PocketMacros Privacy Policy

This is the privacy policy ("Privacy Policy") for the PocketMacros iOS and Android apps ("PocketMacros App" or
"App"). The PocketMacros App was created by and is maintained by the macroinvertebrates.org project team at
Carnegie Mellon University ("we", "us", or "our").
This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you
use the PocketMacros App and the choices you have associated with that data.
By using the PocketMacros App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
Information Collection and Use
The PocketMacros App collects no identifiable user data, but is capable of collecting anonymized user analytics
data. This feature is opt-in, is disabled by default, and can be turned on or off at any time within the
Settings section of the App. Collected data cannot be used to identify a user. We use analytics data for our
research and to improve the App (e.g. for identifying most popular features, which features aren't being used
or discovered, etc.).
The PocketMacros App stores a very small amount of user preferences, such as flashcard bookmarks, but those
settings can be deleted by the user at any time from within the Settings section of the App.
Transfer of Data
The PocketMacros App runs standalone, requiring no account of any kind and with no Internet connection required.
The App is capable of collecting anonymized user analytics data and securely transmitting it to a trusted data
aggregation/analytics service. This feature is opt-in, is disabled by default, and can be turned on or off at
any time within the Settings section of the App.
Privacy Policy Changes
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new
Privacy Policy on this page and in the release notes for new versions of the PocketMacros App.
You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Changes to this Privacy Policy are
effective when they are posted on this page.
